No it won't add any horsepower. Yes it will fit your 5 liter as long as you get the correct part number for your 5 liter. Timing chains don't add horsepower, they only provide accurate cam timing and reliable service.

+1 I agree with Slo5.0. They will not give any extra or make extra horse power for you. You can get just as a reliable timing set up for less money.

Probably wouldn't hurt to change it, but with that mileage, why not freshen things up a bit?

You wont always need a rebuild with high mileage. If oil changes, and all maintinance was done on time... and it has good compression results, then why tear it down?

I sold my 88 GT with over 180,000 miles on it and it still ran great, 13.40s to be exact

In my defense. He was asking about upgrading timing set. I was more less referring to upgrading the rest of his engine is all. I have had several vehicles knocking on 200k miles that still ran great.

i had an 89 maxima with 327,000 miles on the original motor and tranny. I sold it to a 16 year old for 600 bucks that lives in my neighborhood and he's still driving it. It didn't burn or leak any oil.

They key word in your post was Maxima. Not to be compared to the almighty 302. I am the first to attest to the fact that proper care and maintenance goes a long way on ones automobile.
