Which heads????


so i got this 5.0 roller motor outta a truck to put in my 1967 ford fairlane i am debating on which heads i should use these stock E6 heads which look like a smaller cc or my stock 289 heads? i need lots of low end torque to get this boat movin so any info on what heads i should use would be great

arent the E6 the same as on the 1986 mustang? if they are, dont use them, at the very least, find some E7s.

any stock ford head doesnt flow for shit, if your looking to spend money then get yourself a decent set of used heads or cheap new 1s

Get a set of heads from a Ford Explorer if you are on that much of a budget.

gt-40 's will work the gt-40p needs different headers like mac or the stock 5.0 headers will work. But im not sure they will work in a fairlane. you can check corral classifieds for some tfs heads.

stock mustang header should have no prob fitting in the whale mouth of a fairlane engine bay

If you want torque build a bigger engine. Cubic inches makes torque, not small runner cylinder heads.

i was looking at a 390 but i need to get a c6 with an FE bolt pattern.. i started porting my 289 heads so thanks for the info

Porting is a science, not just grabbing a grinder and hogging some ports out. Good luck with that.
