If you are trying to get the most out of the car then yes. A light weight, low friction rear axle will take less horsepower to operate. Will there be a night and day difference, no. Will it be faster, yes. I had Mark Williams gun drilled 35 spline axles and a chromoly gun drilled spool in my black notchback. That car performed.

Team Z rear suspension was ordered today. dave said it should be here monday or tuesday.
1slo5.0 i can save the extra little bit. if thats the case i will have it done when i order my gears and axles

so i was just sitting here thinking ive still got a lot to do before i can even get this car going.
i need: rear brakes gears axles 9in ends a motor (big duh) trans rear shocks driveshaft trans mount and wheels and tires also since the car was a 4cylinder car dont have to run brake lines to make it disc brakes in the back?

im selliing my set of 4.10's with the gasket synthetic oils and additive and rear chrome cover. actually posting now as we speak. im hoping to get decent cash its was all extra with this gt i got. plus still have an entire interior to get rid of.

I'm also selling a brand new in box set of 4.10's with a FULL install kit including axle bearings, let me know because they are going on ebay otherwise

thats what i been thinking about. i think i am going to go 9in also. so i think my strange spool may be for sale. i dont think a 8.8 spool will work in a 9in rear unless someone can clarify for me

there really isn't a reason to go with a 9 in if you already have the 8.8 stuff....they can be basically indestructable
