Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Fast As Cast vs Trick Flow® Twisted Wedge Street
How much of a gain would the fast as cast get you over the street heads that come with the trick flow top end kit. I am looking to buy this when i get home.

I was reading up on these heads on a different forum, and a very credible source was talking about these heads.. Here is what he wrote:
"There is a 170cc head. This 170cc head can be CNC ported to 185cc or 205cc. There is a porter's casting that is made exclusively to CNC. They end up at 185cc or 205cc. This makes a lot BETTER piece than if you just CNC'ed the OOTB 170cc head. Then there is a 190cc Fast As Cast head. This head was designed off of the 185cc CNC head. It is priced for those on a "budget". It is 400.00 - 500.00 CHEAPER than its CNC cousins and in its intended market, there is not another head you can and spend no money on that is going to out run it. This head has a CNC chamber (standard, no extra cost) and a CNC bowl blend (standard, no extra cost) that just knocks the lip off of the seat." From what i have heard from people that i have talked to, the FAC 190 heads are hard to beat.. But on the other hand the TW 170cc head is a great piece also... |

Yeah those are the only diffs i see too... I would rather the 61 CC for higher compresion, becuase i am going for a NA setup, with nitrous down the road. But yeah if they are a ton better then i will piece together a top end kit instead of going with the premade one...

Roughly 8.7:1 on a stock Mustang engine. Too low. I'd have them milled to 54cc and bring compression up close to 10:1 if it was my engine.
Or you can just buy a Canfield 192cc head that comes in either 54, 58 or 61cc chambers.

wow that is low... the 61cc will be 9.somthing:1.. so youd go for a 54 cc, this is ok on a stock bottom end?? Do you get more gains with the high compression?

I read the whole statement and replied to the whole statement. "Only differences" is big differences in this case.

Yes a stock bottom end is ok. Gains won't be huge but the gain will be across the entire rpm range. Higher compression equals greater efficiency which equal more horsepower.
