Another craigslist car?

87 mustang 5.0 5 speed

asked the person about upgrades etc. i got this in reply.

not inspected but should pass no problem only problem the buyer might have is emissions it doesn't have cats has headers off road h-pipe and a good cat back exuast just dont know the brand but it sounds great has a ram hd clutch and it is not a mass air car but it pulls hard also i like to add the radiator has a small leak a new on is 178 at advanced so i'll let it go for 2500

only 65k miles!

i was thinking offer $1900 get it for $2000-2100 any thoughts?
ill get vin so anyone who can check the vin for me please lmk.

It's probably worth what he he is asking.

2 things that stand out though: 87 with 65K original miles, why so cheap at $2800

Also: it looks like a repaint to me. I am pretty sure there were no body color door handles on fox bodies except when the car was black but the handles were still flat and not gloss.

Red was not an option on the 87 (unless that car is the Scarlett color but it does not look like it) and the 92 LX was the first one to have the molding match the car color, before 92, the strip on all LX's was black rubber. The door handles and locks were flat black for all years.

Not that it matters if it was repainted or not. I would question the 65k miles though, specially since the clutch was replaced, You should get a lot more then that on a stock clutch. If I was selling it, I'd make sure it was inspected so either he knows something else or just gave up on it for some reason. You can use that stuff as a bargaining tool.

ask if it has been wrecked before. Its been repainted as it has painted door handles and no emblems on the fenders.

Looks pretty decent from the pics

Looks like a good car but pictures hide alot, especially small pictures. I'm with PJC and nolife, the car has been repainted. Do a carfax on it.
