Need Advice On Head and Cam Set up.
i'm wanting to get heads and cam now, i just bought an intake manifold today. Trickflow Street Heat, with ported and polished lower. I can go now and pick up an E cam and set of GT40's from a friend of mine for a good price, but i didn't wanna buy the stuff throw it on for the sake of saying i have it and have it still running like shit. So with my current mods plus the intake manifold, what would be a good cam and head package for it?

That intake is going to restrict your cam and head choices...

Depends on how much horsepower you want to make. That Street Heat intake is better than the stock intake but is pretty small. Is this going on a 302, 347 or what? How much horsepower do you want and how much money are you planning on spending on this project? If you are going to use an E cam and GT40 heads then the Street Heat intake will be fine. Anything more than that and you will need a bigger intake (Systemax, R-series, Victor, etc.).

well its still a DD, i just spent about 2500 on parts in the past week, so i'm a little low on extra money at the moment so i don't have a huge budget right now. but as far as HP numbers i'd like to eventually hit somewhere between the 375-400 RWHP range with my motor thats in the car now. It's going on a 302, i'm thinking of getting a bare block and putting a 347 together eventually and just work on it little by little over the next year or so.

Just save money....dont spend...then do it all right the first time...Sell the intake and build a motor on the stand.

planned on after getting the cam, since i'll have to have it tuned anyway or so i've heard because of the 94-95 computers running like shit untuned with a cam, to have it tuned with nitrous, so no i wasn't expecting to make that 400 on just motor, i'd be satisfied with 300-315 RWHP on motor, then spraying it with a 125-150 to make up the difference

If your just goign wtih gt40 heads and not looking to run 11's then the street would be fine.. plus I seen the thread over on corral.net about the one your buying and that's a damn good price. If you don't like it or pickup a set of tfs heads in the future just resell the street heat for a little more then what your getting it for
![]() But I had the street heat and stock heads with a turbo and made 390 to the wheels with 10 psi |
