setting up pedestal rockers?


alright so on my 78 with a 306 in it, i am running 7:1 roller pedestal rockers and im thinking i have an issue with them, i know how to adjust a stud rocker but what is the rule for pedestal?

my car has developed a miss fire but my compression is even across the board.

all you can do is put a small shim under the stand, otherwise you just torque them to like 18 or 20 lbft

well i just ordered the shim kit, im curious what kind of problems could have developed from them not being adjusted correctly.

the engine has about 1k miles on it

Did you measure for psuh rod lenght?

Aren't there two ways of doing this...A) using the proper tool B) Turing the motor over and watching where the rocker hits on the valve stem when the valve is open. I'm assuming one is more accurate than the other, I was just looking for some insight and if you've heard of method "B"?
