mishimoto blues

My 94 GT had been running a little warm occassionally in summer when running the A/C so I thought I would put a decent aftermarket radiator in it. Ive installed 2 mishimoto radiators and both of them have leaked within one week of install. The first I took to a shop and he said both upper tubes leaked and it wouldn't be worth it to repair. The second was only driven about 200 miles before it began to leak. They're pretty much a drop in and Im still using the isolators. The car has a tokico lowering spring/shock kit and does ride rougher then stock. But I wouldn't think it would be rough enough to tear up a radiator.

I don't want to try a 3rd mishimoto. Is there a good aftermarket drop in radiator out there?????

TIA
Chris

I bought one for about $180 shipped from this place on ebay and it has been going for over a year now with no problems. I see his prices are a little higher now. It was a drop in replacement with the small exception of I had to shave a little rubber off of the top factory supports.

Good info, I was thinking of getting one of these pieces but since you have 2 bad in a row, I won't. Their quality control must be crap.

Griffins may be expensive but would you rather buy 4 mishimotos to get one that works or one griffin? they are worth the money

I still haven't had a problem with any Mishimoto units, and I still dont work for Mishimoto. I wasn't "pushing" anything, I took pictures of two radiators and posted them in a forum.

OP, sorry to hear about your issues. Have you talked to anyone over at Mishimoto about this? Their customer service is top notch...

Your suggesting that it's better to go through 4 shitty radiators to find the one that works (all mushimoto), instead of buying the one you know works right off the bat?

I'm confident that the extreme majority of Mishimotos work right off the bat. The ones that break are the only ones that are posted about, because who really is going to make a thread saying "I bought this part, and it works!"?

I bought Koni shocks, if they had blown, I would have made a "WTF" thread, but they didn't. So I had no need to post to the world that I bought new suspension that works as advertised.

I've never had a problem with a single Mishimoto unit, nor have any of my friends who run them in Hondas, Nissan drift cars, other Mustangs, etc.

Anyone know the best place to buy a Griffin??

Griffin Thermal Products 1-26272-X - Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators – SummitRacing.com

this is the one I have. Its 31" and barely fit. Id go with a 29-30" measure your hose diameter too, I didnt do that and had to make an adapter.
