O2 sensors

I recently put a set of long tub headers on my 93 LX and did away with the catylitic converters, (all 4) and then reinstalled the sensors in the new headers, will this in any way affect the reading these O2 sensors take and send to the computer or wherever this informtion is fed to?

Correct me if Im wrong, but I beleive the O2 sensors on your LX are just after the headers and before the cats right? If thats the case, removing the cats will have no effect on the reading made to your PCM by your O2 sensors.

On a later model Stang, we have O2 sensors before and after the cats, so pulling the cats would make the rear O2 sensors see the same A/F ratio as the front, in turn, causing a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to light with a code to say the cats are bad. Its an OBD-II/emissions regulation to ensure drivers know if/when their cats fail so they can be replaced, but should have no effect on performance.

So....after all that...you should be fine

With the stock setup you had the shorty headers and then the O2 sensors were at the top of the first set of converters and then 2-3 feet further back you had the second set of converters. So I believe you are exactly right.

Someone told me that since the converters have been removed that this would affect exhaust back pressure and would this have any affect on the O2 sensors
