seatbelts

so the seatbelts in my 88 dont retract on their own or hold a person back if i get on the brakes. they just sit there with lots of slack unless you open the door or pull it out and let go of it. anything i can do without buying expensive new seatbelts?

I can't help much but word of advise.. if you do buy new make sure there for your year. I found out the hard way that not all front seat belts are the same
