i doubt knocking would be a lifter, if it were a lifter it would be in the ticking section IMO

some people confuse a knock for a tick. i doubt it's rod knock if it's coming from up top. if it's a "tick" then it's likely a lifter or a header leak.

yeah, um

def in the valve train, either collapsed lifter, bent pushrod or broke a rocker off the pedestal.

just pull the valve covers, no big deal and the prob should be stairing you right in the face

Huh, huh? There both in the valley of the motor, how could u see one side and not the other?

I'm guessing you mean you didn't take the rockers off on the passenger side to pull the pushrods off, so you can take out the lifters?

It sounds like a valvetrain noise like a loose rocker arm, broken valve spring or bad lifter BUT that doesn't mean it is in the valvetrain. I destroyed a rod bearing once that sounded like a loose rocker. I swore the noise was in the valvetrain, it sounded like it was under the valve cover. I was even going to make another pass with it but decided to go the safe route. If you don't find anything out of place in the valvetrain, you are going to have to pull the engine out and pull it apart.
