need help head/intake install

so i posted about a month ago about getting a good deal on a trickflow h/c/i but unfortunately it was sold out from under me

luckily i won this auction on ebay

SBF Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads and GT40 INTAKE:eBay Motors (item 180375326992 end time Jul-02-09 07:54:00 PDT)

so i will have the twisted wedge heads / tubular gt40 lower/upper with portwork to match the heads

so being a noob at cars i have many questions

mostly what all i should aquire befor i have the install done by my mechanic, he is giving me a deal provided i buy everything i need so he only has to charge me labor

this is what i already have;

h/i
6 quarts of royal purple oil
large jug of coolant
new 180 thermostat
ford racing spark plug wires
new zinc valve covers with breathers
tfs hardware kit

i know i need;
spark plus - autolite what ones should i use what should they be gaped at
gasket kit - i want to use felpro's kit
Fel-Pro QKS2337 - Fel-Pro Gasket Kit Sets – SummitRacing.com

but i am unsure if this kit will work because the port work on the intake, will it make a difference, will the TW heads be good with these gaskets as well?

what else do i need as a necessity for the install? pushrods? valve guides? if so what type, i am working on a pretty limited budget

will my stock cam work fine with this setup untell i can get a custom cam,

i am going to switch over to a 255 pump and 24# injectors next, but will my stock pump and 19#ers be ok with this setup untell then

like i said i am a noob at cars and i am just learning so help from you pro's is very much appreciated

I think youll need stud mount rockers, and new hardened custom length pushrods.

That is a good deal. I'd have a valve job done and install new springs to match whatever cam you get. Even though the springs are advertised as being good to .580 lift, that doesn't mean they will work with the cam you get (even if the lift is less than .580) and they may not even be good anymore. Your stock cam will work fine and will probably suprise you as to how much power it will make with this set up. Grab some 1.7 rockers since you need rockers anyway. Use a Felpro 1250 intake gaskets, Felpro 1415 exhaust gaskets and a Felpro 1011 (if I remember correctly) head gasket.

so they guy i bought this off said he is going to send me the gaskets that go with it, he said they are new felpro gaskets 12xx something cant remeber

if i can make near 300 hp with the stock cam then i am not going to worry about changing it

my project isnt to make a balls to the wall 1/4 mile car, but a reliable clean 300rwhp that will speed uphill and handle my abusive daily driving

so stud mount rockers those replace the springs correct? so scrap the springs and get some 1.7 rockers any particular brand, luckily i have a summit racing about 8 or 9 miles from my house si trying to compile a list so i can just go in and buy what i need

how can i find out what length pushrods i will need, if i do indeed need custom, also somone told me new valve guide plates, my car overheated pretty hard a few times from me stupidly driving it with the bad head gasket, so is there anything else i should look to replace that will probably be beat from the overheating

so 1.7 roller rockers
anyone have an idea on the autolight sparkplug #
custom length pushrods ? unsure what length, can i just get oem length harden

trying to get my shopping list compiled so i can grab this stuff befor the h/i gets here

I'm not sure what you mean by stud mount rockers replace the springs. You need valve springs. Since you are using the stock cam, I'd get a set of the replacement valve springs for these heads which is TFS-31400414.

Really you should check the pushrod length with a pushrod length tool but 6.750 is pretty common for a 302 with Twisted Wedge heads. Summit has them.

The Autolite part number for spark plugs is 3924.

Head gaskets - FPP-1011-2

i would like to but im on such a limited budget, i still have so many more parts that my car needs, plus so many more parts just for this install that i cant, my budget was 1000 for the twisted wedge heads and no intake so getting this for 900 is a great bonus, maybe someday down the road after i get a new fuel system and after i switch over to long tube headers and a new radiator and change my maf/tb so on and so on

Get 1.7 rockers. They will make your cam a little "bigger".

Sell the gt40 for 400 and buy a sytemax....

Were you a little scared of buying that auction when the guy has zero feedback?
