What kinda times should I be running in the 1/4?
Gentlemen,
I just joined here and even though I'm new to this site, I'm not new to the game. I've owned 5 stangs over the years and just recently acquired a new one that I really could use some advise on. I'm curious as to what this car should run in the qtr mile and any ideas on what I should do when taking it to the track for its maiden voyage. Just to tip the iceburg, the car has a 347 dss stroker with A-4 block, rotating assembly, forged crankshaft, TFS heads, lunati cam, vortech R-1 charger at about 8lbs of boost. tko 600 trans, 3.73 re, lots of tuning and last dyno in March of this year before I bought it was 602 rwhp w/ 593 ftlbs of torque. Car has nitto extreme drags on the back but still won't hook. It has a 10pt cage, complete suspension upgrades all that you can imagine including subframes, upper/lowers, panhard bar, blah blah. I wanted to pick up a car that someone sunk all the money into and all I got to do is just drive it. But I was really wondering what this baby should run theoretically?? Thanks for the help guys. |

My buddy steves s trimmed 331 did 560 on pump and trapped 136 on pump gas. Could never get it to hook so it always ran 11.1

Here is some more updated info on the car that I just dragged out.... If I were to get some slicks on this car and could get some hook on it, I'm thinking 10's are definitely possible. Anybody argue that?

you can fit up to a 275 in the back without a spacer if you widened it up a lil bit that might help since your running 245's

I appreciate the tip FX4, I'm about 50% right now on the rears, so I'll be putting that to use in the near future when it comes time to swap. Thanks much.

What car are you running? I'll keep a lookout for ya. I'm gonna trailer mine for sure, just for safety sake. Also, any ideas on good mustang performance shops around the GA area? I noticed ur from NC but I been stumped here lately trying to find somewhere to pickup some stuff.

Its been a while since I've put a car on the track at Commerce, but I was there a few months ago as a spect. I'll prob just take it slow first couple passes till I get a feel for it. No doubt its gonna be a different beast in this car compared to my 93 convt running 13's...lol. Thanks for the tips.

Where'd u get them from? Then go with some skinnies up front? Kinda the same route I was thinking about taking but I'm not sure about backspacing, height all that stuff.
