Turbo Car Burning Alot of Oil

I dont understand why but sometimes when I start the car ill get a puff of blue smoke. Or if I get into boost while accelerating i can see a cloud behind me? I changed my oil about 3 weeks ago topped it off, and now its reading in the add mark? any ideas? what I can look at? the car is running real fat if that has anything to do with it? thanks guys

Sounds like you need to start running a catch can.

How about the line from the valve cover tube to the throttle body? Is that disconnected and capped off as well and a breather instead of the cap on that filler neck?

If so.. sounds like it might be time for some cylinder work. Have you done a compression test lately or have some numbers to compare to?

no tests lately, but the nipple off the throttle body is capped off, there is a breather on the filler neck, and the pvc is vented into the atmospere. cylinder work?!?!?!?!

Can't you still get blow by thought? Mines capped off and vented, no breather tough. I need one asap. I still get some oil in the pipes, but no smoke out the back.

Anyone ever use a one way check valve?

take your intake off the turbo and you just might see oil in their. if not, check the exhaust side.

it'll either be a very small amount of oil/oil residue or a lot. doesnt take much oil to make a lot of smoke

id say your correct, but im not pouring smoke or nothing just a puff when i wack it, but that is one of my first todos, is im gonna check the exhaust side first. I know its not in the cylinders cause if it was a ring it would smoke out and in the throttle, but its not anything major at all. but it could be a beginning of seals going.

not necessarily . take off the intake cause it'll show you if oil is coming in through the pvc. check the pvc, if thats oiled, then get a catch can. if its dry, then check the exhaust side.

if that all checks out, then start pulling plugs to see if its internal. but i'd say its turbo/pvc system.

does it make any weird noises when you start boosting? anything that you havnt noticed before? do you loose pressure after you hit max psi when boosting?

Turbo seals or inadequate crankcase ventilation system are the most probable causes.

Doesn't matter if it is fairly new, it could still have bad seals for a variety of reasons.
