you can always just opt to get some msd wires that are the custom fit ones...they come with a bag of different angled plug boots that'll fit around the headers..and with long tubes you'll have an easier time.

That way every time he drives, he'll think about how much time and $$ it takes to make a car great and wont be stupid. Not saying he's stupid, but you get my point - Respect.

Yea I kinda figured that. We need to go run it just to see what it will do now. What do you think? Its a bone stock motor with shorty headers, no cats, an x pipe, and flow masters with turn downs. It also has 3:73 gears.

What other cars/trucks (if any) came with the gt40 heads and the explorer type intake? I'm thinking I may do a gt40 head and intake swap with 1.7 rocker arms. This should be plenty fast for him right now and do a full motor build in about a year.

skip the 3.73s, go to 4.10s, slicks, will easily run mid 13s

It already has the 3:73s in it so that's what I am going to stick with for now.

This may be a stupid question but when they say the gt40s have angled plugs what exactly they mean? The heads on my 86 Appear to have angled plugs. Are these the stock heads?

i think only the gt40ps were angled, and it means a diff angle than stock. All it means is some headers wont fit, which isnt a big deal.

The stock head have roughly a 45 deg angle for the plugs whereas the "P" heads have a lack of this angle, as it's more like 20 deg. Thus, it creates clearance for the primary tubes on some headers
