tremec bellhousing
i have an 89 mustang and i blew my t-5, i found a guy selling a tremec 3550 and all it needs is a bellhousing, do all tremec 5speeds use the same bell housing?
i also read that cobra Rs from 1995 had a 5 speed tremec, i see they sell bell housing for them that say they were used on cobra R, will they fit a fox body? Thanks |

arnt shitty. Its worth it to make sure, trust me. I don not think all the bell housings are the same, but im not sure, hopefully someone here will know for sure. But just wondering, how much is he asking for this thing? Also the 95 Cobra tranny you are talking about is the 3650. |

the guy told me everything about it and he's a good guy works on things out of his garage, he said he'll let me use it for a while and if i don't like it i can take it back out and he'll refund all my money.
he wants 700$ for the trans and he's got a ford racing aluminum driveshaft for 100$ thats why i'm trying to find a bell housing for it, like a cheap one that will work. |

That's a good deal for both pieces if they are in usable condition like you say. I'd jump on it and be done with your t5 woes. I really like my 3550 but it takes a little getting used to because there a bit notchy compared to the butter shifts of the t5s.
Not sure on the bell housings.. I know the 3550 and the tko used the same but that's about it I believe. |

really it depends on the power you are going to be making and the type of driving. also how big your leg is or how big you want it to get from the stiff clutch
