Oxygen Sensor


Hello, i have a 91 5.0 car and i still have cat's and 02 sensors. I'm wondering if i take the cats out if i need to do anything else. 02 sensor or computer wise. I'm new to the forum sorry if this is in the wrong spot. Thanks in advance for any help.

no you dont need to change anything as long as whatever pipe you put in still has the o2 bungs then youre fine.

is there only supposed to be 2 sensors. im used to up and downstream sensors.

If you put an O/R h-pipe on and remove the smog pump will you even need the sensors?

Yes. Smog pump has nothing to do with the o2 sensors.

What will happen if you dont have the sensors? The reason Im asking is I dont think the one I was looking at had the o2 bungs.

You need your o2 sensors so the ecm knows how rich/lean your running and make the needed correctings in the tune. Without sensors you'll be running pig rich I believe which means you'll use allot more fuel and be slower so stop being so cheap and buy a sensor
