aod to c4 automatic conversion

I have a 1990 coupe v8 it had an aod in it that went out and I converted it to a c4 and I am having a ton of problems. I had to change the fly wheel so that my tourque converter would bolt up and now when you turn the key the car will not start. the starter will spin when you jumper it but it will not work by the key. it sounds if the starter is not touching the fly wheel. can some one help

Thank you Kindly

Sounds like you have a 157 tooth flywheel and a 164 tooth bellhousing.

did you put the dust plate back on? (thin plate in between bell and motor) if not then you will likely have the wrong spacing and your starter will not engage with the starter. i think darrell is right though. since you have to change flexplates, you have to change bell housings

The AOD flexplate should have worked. You must have got the wrong converter. There are a couple variations with C4 converters. I use AOD flexplates on all of my 5 liter 50 oz C4 conversions.
