I ordered up some P heads and they came in today. There is a lot of bs floating around on the net about which headers fit and which don't. The only way to prove that some fit and some don't are pictures. Currently I have a set of hooker super comp equal lengths and a set of stock manifolds. I took mulitple pictures with the headers bolted on to show you any clearence problems.

If you have any pictures of your headers bolted to p heads, feel free to post them!

STOCK MANIFOLDS:

Passenger Side:







Drivers Side:







CYL 6 Contact
Small denting and 90 deg wire with fire retardent boot needed.




Equal Length Shorties:

Passenger side:

Cyl 3 will require tube modification





Drivers side:

cyl 7 may need a touch of clearence for plug wires.





Shorties:
Pros: Shorties when lightly modified will be the easiest cheapest solution to the p heads. They will allow easy access to plugs with a normal plug socket.

Cons: Although decent factory design, still limit power potential.

Equal Length Shorties:
Pro: Larger diameter primaries than stock, flow better, sound great.
Cons: IF you can Clearence the tubes enough to allow them to fit p heads, you will have to remove them to change spark plugs.

pro: cost about 180, about 100 cheaper than FRPP 'p' headers and clear just fine.
cons: needs a modified spark plug socket on cyl 7

it would im sure, but i would rather just buy up the right parts to make it work or use what I have.

I have bbk equal length shorties that have almost the same fitment issue. hate when i have to drop the headers to change my plugs they even sell shorter spark plugs to retro fit.
