20 days left and $10,000 to spend!

Hey y'all

I have 20 days left in this hell-hole, and 10,000 dollars to spend on the coupe when I get home!!!

LET THE MODFEST BEGIN!

First, anyone know the BEST place to pick up a 347?

I am also looking for a C5 tranny, and a set of wheels.

Im going to swap in a ford 9 in rear end and swap the front rotors to take 5 lugs, then Im thinking some Nice Cobra-style rims.

I want carburated, less computer shtuff to screw with, and It will be painted Bright green at my son's request.

I CANT WAIT TO GET HOME AND GET STARTED!

Thanks for any help Y'all can give.

DANIEL

I hear good things about CHP with their 347. I am buying my 347 rotating assembly from CHP. Maybe somebody with more than one brand experience will chime in here and give you more info. Hope you get home okay, and happy modding!

+1 Talk with Rick at RNh top notch. I was originally gonna have an engine built by him and he quoated me some good prices, then i came upon a low mileage short block and went another route. Rest assured my next setup will be from rick, as I have heard of nothing but +s about his work from other peeps that have delt w/ him. When I was speaking w/ EdC about my valvetrain setup he to recommended Rick.

yes, he is in the process of building me a 331 dart block, i never dealt with him before but heard nothing but good, also i was checking out dss and chp, i am getting a dart block with good internals with ricks (rnh) build, for the same price the other quoted me on a stock block with good internals. his prices are great, yeah he has to make money, but he dont rape people like the others. honets guy so far.

joeydo730, Sounds like your going to have a very stout setup. What kind of HCI are you going with?

Sure am opal. its amazing how much money you can invest in a stock cast bottom end. i figured let me get rid of it now while its still in one piece and get some money for it,

I think in the fall i will be stepping up to a dart block strocker also. How many #s of boost do you plan on running? BTW i see your from Queens, I grew up there right off jamaica ave in woodhaven and actually went back down to purchase this opal in queens.

I would look at the 5.0L/302-347 CID SMALL BLOCK 450 HP "Z" HEAD FORD RACING PERFORMANCE CRATE ENGINE ASSEMBLY.

Part number M-6007-C347 . Comes with a 12,000/12 month warranty. Usually free shipping. 9.7/1 C/R. We have installed 3 of them. The only thing you have to ad is a carburetor. Even comes with spark plugs and was dyno'd. Good power and an easy install. List is around $8700.00 but you can do better.

450hp for $8700........sheesh! I can see why Ford is having financial problems.

I don't even have that much invested in my engine........

I will definately look up Rick, that is too many +s for me not to.

I saw one in Jegs Ready to Run - Carb for about $5000 400PH i think, Id have to look again, but Ive heard bad things about Jegs.....

I just want around 300-350 HP nothing more I want fun to drive, but not a monster, I will be teaching my kids how to drive in it and it will be my son's eventually, so simplicity breeds success here.

Thanks yall!

Keep em coming, and If and when I get some good info, i will be sure to pass it along.

If your only looking for 300+rwhp than a well matched HCI will more than likely do the trick. You wont be near block splitting HP#s. so no need to upgrade the block.

OK...then how about the Ford Racing M-6007-XB3M. MSRP is $4300.00. All you need is an intake $200.00, carb $400.00, distributor $250.00 plug wires and plugs and your done. I once sat down and calculated the cost of buying all the NEW pieces seperately, and you can't even come close if you need outside labor for the assembly. 345 HP and 310 ft/lbs of torque. Best of all it's all Ford parts.
