bad night at the track..clutch problems please help!!
took the car to the track for the 1st time since having the tranny rebuilt, and the bolt on's...well to this point i have gotten on the car hard even launched it on a long road behind my house....but no burnouts...well tonight pull out the water pit..did a burn out went to hit the clutch and it very soft..and had to push it hard as i could to get it to dissengage...then let back up and it catches soon as i move an i stalled the car...then i pulled up staged reved to like 18 it grabbed hard and i was off went to hit 2nd and it wouldnt go...clutch is very hard to dissengage but i drove it home...once its going the car pulls fine no chatter or slipping from the clutch..any ideas??

It sounds like an adjustment problem ...Don't stock quadrants have problems with hd clutches?

Air gap not set right.....non adjustable clutches need to have a high pedal disengage....

Adjustable cable and quadrant for starters. That should have been done before the heavy duty clutch.

yea stupid mistake on my part.....im not sure if the cable is stretched or not.i got under it...the cable doesn't have any slack...but if i grab the clip in the fork and wiggle it up and down..to the point if i push it hard enough up i could probably get it to slide out

It sounds like to me..
a) Stripped/broken quadrant b) Stretched cable Check and see if the fork is hitting your bell housing. It could have broke the pivot ball or slid off it causing some crazy geometry

locktite or a locking nut? glad you got it fixed... what cable did you put into it? and did you replace the quadrant and firewall adjuster too? I hope so cuz those will be breaking next...
