well those metal tubes are just spot welded in like 4 spots on each side on the the crossmember if you grind them down flush you can make them slide back by hitting it with a hammer.
can you give me an idea of which way its gonna slide so i can just have my welder guy handle it for me?

Yeah, you can kiss all of your gas mileage good buy with a C4 versus a T5. No overdrive and a converter that slips the entire time you are driving is not ver good for gas mileage. If you tighten up the converter the car will be a turd.

A lower stall speed than what you have is a "tighter" converter. A higher stall speed than what you have is a "looser" converter.

hell gas milage doesnt come with owning a fast car unless you have like a new car with work done, but my turbo car is by not any means ever gonna get good milage anyway. It costs money to have fun

oh i got ya. yeah it would be pointless with a small converter, plus im not driving it on the highway, just around town. hit it here and there

Depends on what you consider fast. I used to have a daily driver that ran 11.50s and got 25 mpg on the highway.
