t5 to c4 swap?

t5 to c4 swap?


i am supposed to go pick up a dynamic c4 tommorrow. the car has a g-force t5 in it now. will the c4 drop in like cross member and drive shaft wise? thanks

You will have to modifiy the crossmember. Driveshaft is the same. What is wrong with your G-force?

Why? A G-Force is a good trans. What kind of auto did you trade it for? Did it come with a torque converter?

a dynamic c4, sfi bellhousing, cheetah, reverse body, brake, cooler, minus lines. im a 5 speed fan too, but nothing is like a launch off the brake

oh and yeah converter also, actually he said he just forked out 800 for the converter. i guess his car was falling on it face at the track or something, he thought it was the converter, bought a brand new one. It was a fuel pump ?!? and i stumbled along on craigslist with an ad looking for built c4 or aod and put the force up for sale or trade and he called me about an hour after posting it. he said it was either mine or a tko600 but that guy wanted a grand on top of his auto so we have been talking for about a week and im finally today going to pick it up. been workin my ass off and this weekend it is gonna pay off!

i did the same swap and i have no regrets i love my tranny break!! ya the crossmember you will have to grind the spot welds on the mounts and slide the crossmember back a little then it will bolt right up.

so your not confused.

when you pull the crossmember out there are 2 tubes that the long bolts go through.
well those metal tubes are just spot welded in like 4 spots on each side on the the crossmember if you grind them down flush you can make them slide back by hitting it with a hammer.

You will need a different converter. The one from the other guys set up will work but will be far from optimum unless your cars are absolutely identical, but even then the converter could be way off.

You should have stuck some money in chassis work before you swapped transmissions. If it blew the tires off with a manual, it will with an auto too.

yeah im coming to that conclusion already. it stalls at 4k rpm, so i can kiss my gas milage good bye too, im gonna leave the brake disconnected till i get my torq boxes welded and everything, and im doing a coil over setup. ill keep it posted though. I got to go get some line from the hydraulic shop tommorrow.
