motor mounts and LT header question

well i have my log tubes in, but theyre not in exactly. theyre not mounting flush against the heads. on the passenger side I see why, theyre hitting the bottom K member, but on the driver side there is nothing in the was for them to move outwards, (as in away from the engine) and to mount flush...which confuses me. Im pretty sure my mounts are shot as well (lots of cracks, and they look droopy) so that could be the problem on passenger, but driver?...

also how hard are new mounts to isntall? i already have the tranmission dropped

Might be easier to pull the motor and put the headers and mounts on as you have the tranny out, then reinstall the motor/tranny as one. Maybe with the tranny out the motor is tipping back and causing problems?
My longtubes (Mac) hit on the passenger side (have Vert mounts which are lower), but had lots of room on the drivers side. I wouldn't have wanted to try and install the headers while the engine was in, had a bit of twisting etc. to get it to fit.

Had you done them before?

Im thinking I could do them again in probably 4 hours...

I did an entire exhaust system all the way back and it took me and a friend like 8-10 hours - no joke.

yeah man, easiest way for long tubes is like said above. Undo a motor mount, use and engine hoist to pull the motor up slightly, slide it in and set it back into place
