Need Help


Ok i got a 1980 i6 200 in my mustang and want to upgrade to the almighty 8 put i need to know if i am going to have to IMMEDIATELY have to swap trannies and rear ends to do this job. ( i have the money for an engine but not the entire kit)

is an i6 300 a 4 cylinder? if so, then i would switch all at the same time and save the future issues

i am not sure how to even start to answer that question without....calling my phsychiatrist. I will let you figure that one out.

How many cylinders does an I6 have

You will need to change the K-member and the transmission for sure. The rear end won't last long with any horsepower in front of it so you should upgrade that to an 8.8 right away as well.

i have seen some pretty impressive numbers comming from those i6's. check out the the different parts you can get for it, i think you will be supprised to see what you can do with that i6. wouldnt it be cool to beat a "mighty 5.0" with a i6.... something to think about

this may be a noob question but what is a Cam i hear it all the time and i am not sure what it is or does

the cam controls valve lift and valve timing. lift=how much the valves open duration=how long the valve stays open
