Importance of heads on a turbo stock block car...

Im on the home strectch of aquiring all the parts for a T70 turbo setup, I also have a GT40 intake im going to put on at the same time, Also, I want to take the valve covers off and paint them.

My question is this - While I have the valve covers off would it be easy enough to replace the valve springs? Or do the entire heads have to come off? Also would just buying 'regular' valve springs be a fine replacement or should I not even bother if the car is running fine as is.

Also - From what I can gather their is really no reason for me to try and put different heads on this engine since I can throw enough boost at it to crack it in half, Or am I missing something?

Lastly - Anyone know if Pypes violator mufflers are chambered?

Thanks in advance

Why not? I mean I already have the thing, why not put it on? If nothing else It will give me a few horsepower off the boost, And probably more on.

i understand that...but what i'm saying is those heads aren't gonna flow good enough to support a turbo set up...at least i wouldn't think so.

Oh, It's a GT40 intake, not heads. The thing is you can run enough boost to totally destroy the stock block, So that's actually one of my questions. Is their ANY reason to run aftermarket head's when the stock block is the weak link? Im assuming their is some advantages (especially like getting into boost faster, and efficiency) - But actually worthwhile advantages?

yes...the flow better...and the heads are what controls letting air in and exhaust out...so you block will have a pro longed life if you can make it run more efficiently.

You can take a stock motor to the 10's with enough psi. the downfall is youll make tons of torque, and have far lower hp numbers.

If you wanna do it, avoid the inevitable, turbo your stock motor, while you save all your money for a dart based block, top it off with your choice of proven heads intake...

Bigger injectors and a MAF to match and boost that thing!! Your not going to split the block so dont worry about it..
