I can hear mine if I put my head under the rear bumper or if I sit in the back seat with the car on. It's been like that for a year but I removed all the carpet and insulation under the seats sooo

Alright last night i had to go meet my gf parents to some dinner she was making up. Well i dissapointed them due to my car dieing on the way to their place. Just 10 mins on the highway, my car just loses power i pull the side. I pop the hood just let it cool off wait few minutes and starts right up. I drive to the local gas station on the way their it dies twice on me. When i make it i apply ice to cool off the ignition module and i was able to make it back home, but it died on me few times 2 miles away from home.
Now i felt bad for stooding up a family and makes look bad for not having a reliable car as what her dad told me, so i sold my used books to make money to buy new distributor. I replace the dizzy and started right up, so i test drove the car. I took the same route as last night i pass the location where it died on me , on the next exit from the highway i get off and get back on to head home. I was so happy that dam its running great, new paint HA it aint new but looks new. I make home nicely, i shut the car and test it just in case. Well i few second and turn the key again.
Well it just died, it stumbles and it just dies, i touch the dizzy and its freaking hot, i just left the hood poped and left it their for 10 mins and start right up and stays on. But before letting it cool i try cranking it again and it stumble i apply once the gas pedal it wont rev up it just dies on me. My dad is getting on me to cut onto the hood but i just painted the car cutting the hood is hard enough

Haha, don't cut the hood dude. Just keep troubleshooting and you will fix it. How old are your plug wires?

Checked fuel pressure yet? When I had a loose line onthe pump it would drive good, then pop and get sluggish, then back to normal. I was making 10psi when I got a guage on the car.

what is the proper pressure that i should be checking, im getting told that it may be my fuel pump. But i dont think so if my car starts right up if i leave the hood poped open to let heat out.
When i was looking at the dizzy in the morning before heading to work, where the connection to the ignition module, theirs a second plug with just two wires. All it is connected to is end plug it doesnt lead to anywhere else. Anybody know what the connection has to go, or it normal to be plugged how it is

ok, today during i was at work my dad went ahead and replaced the ignition coil for me. I took it for a test drive, i didnt take it very far due to what if it happens sooner. I take the car about 45 mins on the way home again it just dies i lose power. I try cranking it again it does turn over and nothing. I just wait with the hood opened and it starts up again. During middle of the whole thing of trying to start it, my dad checks for spark and im good i get spark

You should be running around 38psi on the fuel pressure. The second plug you were looking at is the spout. You have to unplug the end when setting your timeing.

Yeah man, at this point it definately looks like fuel is the issue. The same thing used to happen to my buddy's car. The pump would warm up and then die. Get a gage. Verify pressure, if the pressure is looking good, drive it around till it quits with the gauge taped to the windshield so that you can monitor it.

see i thought that too, but what is throwing me off is that, theirs this line going to the fuel injectors. Well one of those lines has this outlet a nipple that i can connect or screw something in. My dad went ahead to check if theirs fuel on the line and we got a lot a pressure coming out when it didnt want to start. Do i need to check somewhere else for fuel pressure like further back on the line?

It was the fuel pump, i just replaced it last night and test drove it today. I test drove it three times when i get home each time i shut it off, and start it up again without any issues and no rest. Each time i drove it was a bit longer than the other, taking to the point when it broke down in recent past days. I didnt want to get excited so soon till i get home, on the last test drive i tried pushing it when i could, till i get home. I shut it off thinking dam not gonna work, and it did. Also i dont hear any humming or whining noise coming from the back. Thanks for the help everyone.
Only issues i have left every once in a while ill smell fuel

Sweet man, glad you figured it out. Plus you have almost a completely new ignition system.
