I want to do electric fan, thats final

I cant for the life of me , get the shroud to fit around the mech fan while installing this alum radiator. So F that, Ill do a electric fan like I always wanted.

Can anyone help me w this? What are the good ones, I just want to get a kit I think, that way it slips in easy as possible.

So far Im looking at the proform, from summittracing.com for $140 or so. Looks decent.

I just want something that will look professional and work. thnx

Know what I think about proform?

Well most kits you can order are still universal and will require basic knowledge of how to hook it up.

Do you plan on using a fan controller? Or a switch, or both or just going to wire it straight? However you want to wire it up, ill be happy to sketch you up a quick diagram on ms paint.

I think I want to find a kit that will bolt to the radiator the same way the shroud bolts to it, if they make a kit do that.

Whatever it be, I want it simple and nice looking. I dont mind a manual switch, but there has to be a auto switch to keep it cool.

I would love for the help man, anything you can do I would love it. thnx all.

drove my car for a year with underdrive pulleys and a tauras fan on the stock alt. Did you? Have you had a taurus fan and need to upgrade your alt cuz it kept killing the battery?

Maybe you don't HAVE too but using the stock alt with that fan is not a good combination. The fan will really only be needed when you are not moving or moving slow. That is also the point where the alternator output is the lowest. I believe the stock alternator puts out like 20 amps below 2000 rpm which is barely enough to keep up with the normal loads. It will work but the power will be coming from the battery. As a side effect, the constant discharging and recharging of the battery will shorten its life. If you have a 24/36 month replacement warranty on your battery, that might not matter to you
Again, it will work but it is not ideal.

If you don't have the skillz or desire to assemble a basic Taurus fan install or a more elaborate one with soft start and variable/dual speed, you can get the Flex-a-lite 185 or 175 kit that includes everything you will need for about $200-300 and only draws 18 amps and they will cool anything that the Taurus fan could have.

Proform is junk. If you get a Proform fan, you will end up buying another one after it fails.....and it will fail. I know several cheap asses that thought saving $100 was such a good deal until they had to buy 2 or 3 Proform fans. Get a Flex-a-lite Black Magic fan, part number 175. It has built in brackets and mounts nicely. The fan will cool anything and only draws 13 amps.

This is one of the stupidist posts I've seen in a while. If you want to be stupid, fine. But don't try to make everyone else stupid along with you. The Taurus fan draws almost 100amps on start up. The factory fox body alternators MAX output is 75 amps. The Taurus fans continuious draw is about 40 amps. So that gives you about 35 amps for the computer, fuel pump, head lights, fog lights, tail lights, turn signals, radio, gauges, ignition, etc. The stock alternator is more than maxed out which is going to cause alternator and/or battery failure.

I agree if you go with a taurus fan you should upgrade your alternator but my turbo car is an exception to the rule. I have it wired up to one 60 amp relay off a switched source and it's been like that for two years of daily driving without any issues. I have stock original alternator with underdrive crank pulley and normal alt and waterpump pullies. No smog/power steering or tensioner pullies.

Also the taurus fan I have is a two speed fan, it's wired up on the low speed.
