1985 GT Throttle Valve Pressure HARD SHIFTS automatic trans

Hello

My 1985 GT has 67,000 miles on it. It began to over-rev in first into second, with a giant BANG into second gear. I had the throttle valve pressure adjusted, and now it shifts quickly, with a big bang into second, and an immediate shift to third after that. It still has a harder than normal 1-2 shift. What can I do?

the higher tv pressure is just masking an internal concern. time for an overhaul

Gotta love AODs.

Mine gave up the ghost awhile back and my buddy had a C-6 laying around that we put in instead. I dont mind not having overdrive. The loss of the high gear was more then offset by the increased durability of the C-6 imo, though I do wish it had been a C-4 instead for less parasitic loss. But we went with the C-6 cause it was on hand.
