Oil burning 347 ? WHo started this?

I keep reading things like this all over this section of the forum. I drive a 347 like 1500 miles a month and run the shit out of it on the track and no oil burn and two buddies have them and no trouble. What's the deal?

The Legend Of The Oil Burning 347...

Noone knows the origins of the 347, its carbon dating puts it about .003 milliseconds after the big bang. Its rumored that before strokers, the offset ground stock cranks ruled the land, causing interenginemake rods and bearings. Then one day, noone knows who, discovered the fossilized remains of the blessed 3.4" stroke. paying no attention to wrist pin placement they thoughtlessly drilled the hole thru the oil ring land. This angered all of the 331 tribes of the land, who started a campaign to denounce the once great 347.

That's another BS story. Alot of 347 kits still have wrist pins that intersect the oil ring. Not a big deal. There are actually alot of stroker kits that are like this. Its not like the wrist pin pumps oil out of it. Someone stupid started posting this shit on the internet 15 years ago and its all bullshit.

my friends 302 burns half a quart of oil a week now, so we think it stroked itself to a 347 from him using nitrous

I don't know why it would burn oil if it intersected the oil scraper anyway..

The RINGS are what seal the cyl wall, all the wrist pin intersects is the scraper, shouldn't make a difference.
