255lph & 8.8 axle install advice

I need to install a 255lph fuel pump, and an 8.8 axle into my car, The car has a 7.5 in it right now but its an 89 (Guy before me swapped this POS into it).

So I plan on dropping the tank first, then doing the axle to free up space.

Does anyone have any advice for me on either of these 2 installs, preferably the tricks/tips that make it go easier (especially how to position the axle for installation, and if i will need new bushings, etc).

did you just use 2 floor jacks to keep the diff up, or did you place it on jackstands first?

car up on jackstands with the jack under the center of the diff, that way you can lower it to get to the upper control arms
