broken door handle


i have a 85 mustang and last night the drivers side door handle broke and i'm not real sure on how to change it?

Drill out the rivets, remove everything from handle, reattach to new handle, rivet it back on...

They are prety simple and striahgt forward.

go buy a new one , drill out the revits on the old one. Take off the door panel first, I recommend getting carriage bolts to replace the revits that come with the new handle (small ones the same diameter as the revits) Head of the bolt to outside of the car, get nuts and lock washers and some thread locker.The rest should be self explanitory

you may be able to fish it together through the hole but not sure, taking off the panel makes it easier I have done them on my 85 but it was like 10 years ago. It's pretty easy. The reason I use carriage bolts is b/c a standard revit gun dosn't go big enough

how big of a drill bit should you use

I had the same issue and I drilled out the ribbets went to autozone to get a replacement only ten bucks when I picked mine up
