weird idle after pressure wash

Pressure washed my engine today after the Purple Power left white residue everywhere. I drove it for maybe 20 miles and got home and my idle stays at 1000 rpms and when I rev it, it will hang then slowly drop. This just happened after pressure washing it. Maybe if I just let it dry overnight it will be fine? This sucks because I had my idle perfect at 700rpm with no surge or hanging

Yeah, just let it dry. Make sure you didnt power wash/move anything that could affect the idle (timing maybe or something?)

well it ran fine right after the pressure wash. but after I drove it some it started doing this. I'll let it sit tonight and see whats up tomorrow. Look for any loose connections/vac lines and whatnot

if the purple power left a residue you might have forced it into a connection, and when it dried left the residue and is screwing up an electrical connection

never use purple people eater on an engine lol. it eats everything except greese lol. engine bright or simple green work great the trick is to get your motor warm just up to temp and then wet it down with water close the hood and let it sit for a lil while to steam it up then spray engine bright on it and let it sit for 10 minutes or so then wash it.

Yeah my brother told me to use it. I always use simple green and tire shine. It looks alot better after I pressure washed it but I'm gonna use some tire shine today to make it look a little better

instead of starting ANOTHER thread I'll post this question in here....

Today I decided to run mid grade fuel in my car and my car feels alot stronger, exhaust smells different, and it's idling smoother. Could the previous owner have upped the timing a little? Would I notice these things after the switch if my timing was bumped up and I've been running 87?

Thats crazy talk....no way can someone change timing.... That would involve a timing light which are very expensive....

hahaha I guess I worded it wrong? I just meant I'm noticing this stuff after just upping the fuel grade. And my car doesn't backfire as bad from 2-3 Wot shifts... actually it didn't at all today. I'll get a timing light next week when I get paid, I was just wondering for now guys

I'd spend the few extra $$ and get a decent timing light
