Finally some attention for my '91 Notch.

Ok so my plans for doing some work on my '91 were recently put on hold as I was forced to DD her a bit (turned from 78k to 81k ) while my Cobra was in the shop and I had just sold my former DD. My Cobra will be finished this week so I will have some time to do some much anticipated modding/maintenance on my Fox. I have H/C/I planned but thats for this winter.

So far here is what I have in the works.

5 lug conversion with rear disc. (Using the brakes from a '90 LSC)
Reinstalling my rear seat and seatbelts
Oil change
A good wax, wash. and detail
Reinstall my battery under the hood (Its still mounted in the passenger side rear floorpan where the former owner put it?? )
Install my 3.73's with correct speedo gear

Anyone have any input as to other semi easy/fast stuff I can do while the car will be down? I am trying to locate a good short shifter and possibly an o/r H or X pipe if I can find a good deal. I was also thinking fuel pump and filter? I am also at odds of what wheels to run. I have an extra set of 10th Anniv. wheels but they are 17x9 and I know they don't fit without some issues. Thanks in advance for input.

add some struts and shocks to that list. im sure as old as the fox is it wouldnt hurt. also ive always been under the impression a 17x9 wheel would fit just fine it depends on the tires size you put on them

While you've got the time and the welder out for your subframe connectors, box in your LCA's or purchase a decent set of aftermarket ones and also put in some battle boxes.

Thanks for the idea, I already have brand new KYB Gas-a-just shocks and struts on her. I will try to fit the 17x9's but if they rub go with something else.

94bonestocker - Thanks for the idea, I had forgot about doing that too.

Also thinking of adding a firewall adjuster and clutch quadrant.

Guess I should have posted a mod list. lol

BBK X Pipe with cats
Pypes stainless cat-back
BBK fenderwell cold-air intake
BBK UDP's

Thats what the car has done currently as far as aftermarket stuff.

Yep!

They are a necessity when running slicks or sticky tires and a little bit of horse power as they stop your floor from cracking and the LCA's from tearing out.

I actually just made my own and when I pulled the rear seat and carpet out of the way to weld in the new top plate, both sides of my floor was already buckled, and underneath the Drivers side torque box was already bent up pretty bad. The funny thing is I haven't even ran slicks yet and I only have P-zero's for tires.

You could turn up the timing a little bit depending on what fuel you are using. It will help out in the power department a little bit.

you don't need more of a fuel pump with those mods, put the money towards something else and without a doubt get subframes.. these cars should have come with them stock and it doesn't matter if you want full lenght, through the floor or normal short style as long as you put some type of subframe on. Of course full lenght is better then the short style and throw the floor is best but not all cars require you to go all out in this area.

I realize I dont' need a fuel pump now but I will be doing a H/C/I swap with 24lb injectors this winter so I figured it might be smart to get that out of the way.

A set of control arms would be a good investment as well. Id recommend subframe connectors, torque box reinforcements, and control arms.

yeah I would do the 255lph fuel pump and a new filter. also look into an SCT chip for future dyno tuning. I would set the timing to about 14* and run premium gas and see how it likes it. I run 17x9 in the rear with 275/40/R17 tires and they fit with a little modifications to the wheel well to ensure there is no rubbing. I run 17x8 up front with perfect fitment
