Anderson Ford Motorsports Dyno Competition 2nd place

Picked up second place at the Anderson Ford Motorsports Dyno Competition for small block naturally aspirated class.

Was running a bit fat with a little timing taken out (tuned for nitrous), but I competed in the NA class. Put down 390 at the wheels, peaked at the rev limiter 6800 rpms. Lost by 9 hp to a 438 cube high compression small block chevy. I was expecting about 20-40 more hp, but I suppose the nitrous tune held the motor back a little bit. Heavy 18 inch wheels probably didn't help much either.

390 at the wheels is about 460ish flywheel, however, it needs more RPM to peak properly, but I am not sure how much further I am going to spin it with this short block.

I won $100 for 2nd place, placed in the top 25 in the show and won a PSR polished water pump as a door prize... Pretty sweet car show.

Thanks guys. Rick Anderson like the car too, said it made pretty good power for the combo, and it would make more with more rpm...

I don't know anything about CHI heads. What are they comparable to? What made you decide on them?

Not really comparable to anything out there besides maybe AFD or yates.

They are based on the cleveland head design. Requires a CHI brand intake and water crossover.

351w good to about 800ish if I keep the rpms down to a reasonable level. Spun bearing tend to be the failure mode for the 351w.

I'm more worried about the stock rods.

I've sprayed about 10 bottles through it at 150 hp and another 5 or so at 100 hp.

Got plans for a dart based big bore 427 anyway
