Strange brakes--any good?

Hey guys, I was looking at brake kits for my 94 GT on Summit and saw these Strange brakes. Strange Engineering B4446WC - Strange Pro Race Steel Front Brake Kits-Overview – SummitRacing.com

Price is good. The car is a daily driver but only to work and back and then to the gym. I put about 3000 miles on the car per year. What do you think, a good set up?

TIA

For a daily driver, no point in having that sort of brake upgrade. You're just wasting your money, especially to get drilled or slotted rotors, which will increase your stopping distance. (Yes, you read that correctly - they *increase* stopping distance).

Just get some good front pads. I suggest Porterfields, Hawks, or EBCs. Stay away from parts-house pads, they're all crap. For your rear brakes, use whatever, just keep them adjusted properly.

where do you see "increase stopping distance" and do you think the back brakes are only for looks. there needed too, if ur gonna buy pads dont half ass it, even if not the biggest part needed, dont skimp on small stuff.

Oh no, not the "Drilled and slotted" debate again.

OP you would be better off just getting a set of Cobra or Bullit brakes if you want a good upgrade. Yes those Strange brakes are good, but they are intended more for a race car and not a DD.

Im gonna just do small upgrades on my brakes including metal lines, some nice performance pads, and upgrade the calipers to SVO(I think).

Back brakes aren't just for looks, but they only do ~15% of your braking. On a daily driver, there's no reason to upgrade the rears, just to keep them functioning properly.

In terms of brake rotors, cross-drilling and slotting removes surface area for the pad to work against. Less surface area means less braking power. Cross-drilling and slotting were work-arounds for old pad compounds that would gas-off when they got hot - the brake pad would then ride on the gas rather than the rotor, and you'd lose brakes almost entirely. New pads don't gas-off like that outside of extreme race conditions, so there's no reason to compromise the rotor, especially on a street-driven car.

Thanks for the help guys. I actually do want the car to stop quicker and I gotta believe the more powerful 2 piston caliper will do that. The cobra upgrade is about the same cost. Gotta do some thinking.
