Question

Idle surge after fuel pump change


I had a bad Idle because I was told I had a bad fuel pump. the fuel pressure was sitting at 10 psi and I changed the fuel pump to a carter fuel pump that I bought at kraigen and I helped but it didn't fix its Idle problem what could it be

what else have you tried? whats is your fuel pressure at now?

IDK I feel like its a little higher. If i change to a BBK 255 lph fuel pump do you think it will fix it

i doubt its the fuel pump causing the idle issue. did you change the filter while you were at it? how does it run otherwise? WOT?

I changed the filter before I changed the fuel pump the car would surge violently only when the engine warms up then when I changed the fuel pump the car slighly fixed the surge it still surges but not as bad

I feel like the fuel pump is for 4 cylinder cars like the escort taurus and the focus so it doesn't put out enough pressure and when I pulled out my walbro I compared them both and I see the carter fuel pump has a smaller port on it than the walbro
