Timing questions (need quick responses)

I will be adjusting my timing tonight and had a few questions:

1)What is the stock timing set at? Is it 10 degrees?

2)May sound dumb but I want to make sure I am doing it right...what is the best way to adjust the timing?

Thanks in advance

my first advice is to climb under the car and mark 0* 10* and 20* with some white out or something easyer to see.

10* is stock, but in my experence 13-15*'s makes the most power. But listen for ping's of detonation if your running low octane fuel.

if the car has alot of miles on it , put a new balancer on it , this will make sure you dont have problems if the outer ring has slipped

+10 what i did is get the white paint repair pen/brush and brushed it on all the numbers, then put paint thinner on a rag and wiped off the surface stuff, numbers stayed there. makes it sooooo much easier, i didnt do that on my sisters car and its a bitch to see
