Time to buy cyl. heads

Finally I got the OK from the wife to get some heads for my car. I want the biggest bang for the buck., so I did some looking. I have a stock bottom end and need 1.94s or the heads that can use 2.02s with no PTV clearance problems.

#1 Dart pro 1s-175cc- there $1000 and have the best intake flow numbers 1.94

#2 Trick flow T/Ws-170cc- good intake flow, best exhaust flow.$1300

any others I'm not sure about. Any good advise is welcome. If you have info. like dyno, or 1/4 times exct...

Either one will work nicely. AFR 165s and Canfields are nice too.

I have AFR 185's on my car but I have a 347. The 165's would be perfect for you. they come ported already.. Just a thought..

as already stated, AFR's are the best, i'd go w/ the 185's so u can do more upgrades w/ same heads, but im guessing 165 will be the best for were u are at now

You knuckle heads and your "AFR is best" crap. Where do you get this crap? AFR makes a good head but is far from the best. I'd be willing to bet that 75% of you cylinder head experts couldn't tell an AFR head from a dead rabbit much less know anything about what a good head and a bad head is.

You are actually using them so your opinion counts. I was refering to all of these other fools that just jump on the AFR bandwagon without knowing anything about cylinder heads.

I have researched heads for sometime now and have taken
allot of advice on which head to buy and Darrell's opinion is
the one that counts! He directed me to Bob Kurgan out of
Chicago and those of you who don't know who he is, check
him out! This guy knows his stuff and has told me to consider
nothing else but Trick Flow. Bob Kurgan sent me several emails and
told me exactley what to buy and what to do. 1) Buy Trick Flow Heads
2) send them to Fox Lake Power Products and have them
ported to stage 2 or 3 etc. (depending on Ron's opinion) and they will
also spec the proper cam to match (fox lake,Ron) works on Bob's 8sec
race car. These guys know what they are talking about and my TF heads
have been ordered and will be on there way to Fox Lake shortly. Bob recommened him personally and mentioned Ron will not lead you down a HP road of dreams and money for which many of us have encountered
with other shops.

As Bob Kurgan quoted me, "compairing AFR to Trick Flow is like
compairing Chinese to American".

If you want to make serious horsepower, contact Kurgan Motorsports
for a custom tune and he finds horsepower that other cannot or Ron at Fox Lake to customize your heads.... Don't waste your time and money ,do it right the first time!

Check out his site and look at the testimonials, this guy knows FORD
..... just ask Darrell.

Anyone that doesn't know who Bob Kurgan is shouldn't be racing Mustangs. Bob is probably the winningest NMRA Renegade racer in history. His track record speaks for him.

.......but what the hell do us guys with experience know?
