Baer brake upgrade -- parking brake not working
I picked up this car not long ago and one of the issues I want to fix is that the parking brake just isn't holding. It engages some, but not enough to hold it on even a slight incline.
I checked underneath and the cables look good at the handle and underneath and to the calipers. As the title says, it's running a Baer disc brake conversion. I don't know the name of the kit, but it looks like this caliper on all 4: ![]() The car brakes well under normal braking. However, when the engine is off it is difficult to keep the car stopped with foot pressure if on an incline. I have a feeling this is the underlying issue with the parking brake. How can I narrow this down?
