car wont start help

I'm having a problem with my pony. bone stock engine w/ typical bolt on's throttle body, maf, adj. fpr. etc. The cars starts and runs fine. Can drive it anywhere, but when i stop and turn it off. It will not start. i can smell gas. i belive its flooding out, but i have checked everything. its getting fire, got compression, and by the smell fuel. If i let it sit for a little while ( couple of hours) it starts and runs fine. any help would be appreciated

did you check the fuel pump? does your car have a Emmisions system? and is it carberated? you might want to check all the fuel lines.

yeah it's got good pressure, even when it wont start. i've got the fuel pressure regulator set at 45p.s.i. Have you ever heard of BBK's fuel pressure regulators going bad. I was thinking maybe the diaphram may be leaking letting it suck gas into the vacuum line, and flood the engine out.

45 is a bit heavy. try 40 or even 38. are your injectors seating? are they newer? older?
