a few pics on the start of smoothing the bay. since the car leaves tomorrow for the cage i am not sure how much more i can get done on it till it gets back. i may go there and work on it during the week beings he is only there on weekends to do the cages.

what moldings are you after? some of them are still in decent condition. im snakin the rad, a/c and mass air flow out of it. it is currently at my neighbors. he is takin the motor and trans for a 55 f-100.

Looking good man, what material are you using for the cage? what gauge metal are you using in the bay?

seamless steel tubing i am not sure what size that is used i believe nhra rules is 1 3/4 but dont quote me on it. the engine bay is getting done with 16gauge steel so it doesnt bend easily. i may be doing a mini tub but i will use much thinner material for that.

yes but then it would be someone elses work and mine is only costing 24.00 in metal and i already have bondo and sandpaper. plus mine will look cleaner.

but i like the rear seat delete and the door panels but ill make my own.

Is that one of the do it yourself powder coat guns? I was thinking to get one and build an oven out of concrete using the elements out of a few old ovens, so that I can do my frame and some other parts for my bike. How do you like it, and can you mix your own colors?

this is what i use it works really good

Elite HotCoat® Powder Coating Kit

you cant mix your own colors what comes in the jar is what you get. but eastwood has a ton of colors and more can be found online.

this is the same kit i have.. i just got a house oven and i have been able to do everything i need so far. valve covers,intake manafold,transmission case,nitrous bottle...

No you can't mix your own colors, unlike liquid paint where black mixed with white makes grey. If you mix black and white powder you get black with white spots or white with black spots. You have to buy the color you want.
