Car will not run

I fire up the car this morning, starts fine like normal. 3/4s of the way to my destination the car shuts off. So I go to crank it and makes almost the dead battery noise, but one click, then it goes back to cranking. So I keep cranking but open the throttle 100 percent and it cranks. I get on my way to school. I get out of class it fires up idles for 3 seconds then dies. Then makes the battery noise then dies. When the motor starts building compression, the rpms are jumping, and it wants to start is were I notice something funny. Only then will the dash lights come on: ebrake, airbag, battery, check engine. If the cars off but key in auxillary nothing shows up on the dash. Radios and lights all work though. What do you think it is?

I don't know only time i've had that type of issue was a screwed ground but I can't honestly say that would be your total issue.

The ground strap from the firewall to the back of the passenger heads' bolt was loose. I didn't have wrench to tighten it. My buddy jiggled it before I got it towed while I tried to start it and nothing, maybe it has to be tightened down all the way.

Well I tightened the ground on the head. It starts much smoother, but still it kills itself after 3 or so seconds idling. I am also still not getting anything on the dash with the key in the on position unless the car is running.

Electrical is NOT my thing. Im guessing I could just use a dmm to test the amps? and were would I do it. Do you mean jumping it with another car? If so I didnt think about it since everything works but the dash... minus the fact this it wont stay running. Ill try it now though.

electrical is def gay dude, idk what a dmm is but it sounds sexy, and jumping it with another car and just leave the cables on and see if it says running that way, or once you get yours started pull the neg cable off the battery and see if it dies

If you don't get any dumby lights doesn't that normally point towards a fried ecm? or an issue with the ecm's ground?

lol it's just that tool with the red and black needles for checking power. I went to jump the car with my brothers v6, and his battery is dead. I've been having quite the horrible two days haha.

Idk, to be honest. Never had any electrical issues so I've never read into any threads like that. Everything else works fine: radio, headlights, blinkers, hazards, domelight. As soon as it starts everything is 100 percent even on the dash until it dies.

Ok well I was just playing with the car. Pulled my chip, same bs. I did put the key in the aux position, and if I turned it just a nut hair, but not enough to start the dummy lights come on.

Idk if it's relevant, but my electric fan is wired into the msd, so when ever I turn the key in the on position it kicks on. Could it have anything to do with my blaster coil?
