Help Me Make My Exhaust Fit. Anyone Run 1 Chamber Flow Mater
Anyone run flow master 1 chamber mufflers? They run straight threw the center and are not off center cut like the stock mustang muffler. I want to put a bassani x pipe with catalytic converters on and then run it to the flow masters. The flowmaster 1 chamber mufflers are very short they are only like 5 inch’s long. Then I have 18 inch long exhaust tips that are 2.5 inch inlet and run to a 4 inch opening. I talked with a guy that had this same set up on a 96 svt. Is his system a lot differently cut? Do I just need to find a guy who can bend and fit these pipes?
I am taking it tomorrow to the shop that did his system. What am I missing just wanted the heads up before tomorrow. BTW I really would like to run this set up instead of going to a 40 series or other flow master that is off center. I know for a fact his flow master 1 chambers are cut like mine and he to is running a bassani X pipe. The people I went to today said they could not bend an “S” enough to fit it? Another place told me they would have to lower the exhaust system to the point I would lose ground clearance? My other question out of curiosity what are the two long pies that came with my X pipe? Are they tail pipes? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

The exhaust tips I got are 18'' long magnaflow 2.5 inch inlet and 4 inch exit. Is 18'' long enough? Im hoping I got the right one? The other size was a 22 inch length... :-/

It is going to be hard to get mufflers to fit that are center inlet and outlet. I'd just get the right mufflers for the car with offset inlet and outlet. It would make life so much easier.

Are the 18inch exhaust tips the right size? Could I get someone to bend the pipe to get it to fit? I know a guy who has this set up on his 96 SVT and it is the best sounding mustang I ever heard. Is his car that much different in the way the exhuast can be fit or do I just need a good fitter? Thanks

You also have to realize that you are dealing with two entirely different motors. You have a pushrod V8 while he is running a DOHC modular V8, the cars will NOT sound the same. I couldn't tell you if they are the right tips.... you say 18" is that only the tip? The tailpipes are already bent to go over the rear end, right?? I would get different mufflers if I were you. Or go to an exhaust shop and they MAY be able to get it to fit. They will ruin your pipes trying to make them work, and will prolly end up with a few exhaust leaks....
