Who makes this system? The connection at the header collection looks like a big improvement to the flat coupling my Macs have which I can't seem to stop the little leaks from happening.

They are both made by MAC. The grand total with shipping was $454. The Mac warehouse shipped my h pipe to me about a week ago, but they didnt have the LTs in, so they were placed on back order. I then called the warehouse to see if they had any distribution centers that had them in stock. Luckily, a performance shop in Ohio had them. I just got the LTs last night. If the shop in Ohio hadnt had them, I would have had to wait three months.

I put mine on before I put in the motor so it went easy, I've read some guys comments that it would have been easier to pull the motor than try and install them with the engine in. Mine are really tight to the frame and the steering column. Mac looks like they have improved the collector flange fitting compared to my Mac LT's.
Good Luck |

When I put mine in I just jacked it up as far as I could without taking a chance on bending the oil pan, the engine will get to a point where it will not go any higher.

Well me and a buddy got half of it done. The steering shaft was all rusted and slowed us down a bit. My buddy was doing most of the wrenching, i must admit, but i liked to be there and learn a few things...You could tell my stock midpipe had never been off...it was stuck tight just like the steering shaft...Also since my car is mostly stock, all the smog crap is still on it...we capped some of the stuff off where we could and when i have more time, i am going to take off the smog and a/c crap and run a shorter belt...Overall, these LTs have been a fu**in bitch. We worked for about three hours and we got all the shit out of the way and off the car. had the car jacked up, and the motor jacked up too, well the tubes wouldnt go in over the studs so, that is the spot where we just turned in for the day. We are finishing tomorrow, and i will post a before and after sound clip when it is all finished.
Yeah this type of shit is time consuming, but i will be pleased. No doubt about that. |

yea i put long tubes on my car, my brother has a lift at his shop so that helped out alot, we just unbolted the motor and tilted it the away from the side of the header we were putting in, and the passenger side was a pain we had to drop the starter, now we have to pull the driver side header to ding it so the steering shaft will stock catching on it, all in all it wasnt that bad and the trip to the muffler shop with open headers was great to, good thing its not that far

I was curious because when I put my engine back together after a cam swap, I cranked it up with open shorty headers in the driveway. It sounded mean as shit, but if you stomped on the gas (in neutral) the RPMs would barely flinch. Just a slow rise to 2,000 RPM or so, then take off.
Of course, that was probably before we timed it, and being off the timing marks didn't help either, but still. . . . |

Now that it is finally all the way in. I have been able to hear it, drive it, stomp on it, ect... I FREAKING LOVE IT. I just have one question for anybody that has done this before. My buddy was telling me that after you put the LTs in, they will get hot and come loose and for the first few weeks you need to tighten them up. There is a slight ticking from my headers, that is what he was talking about....Is there any truth to this. I believe him, just want to make sure that most of time it happens. He said that for one to two weeks, i will need to keep tightening the bolts back up.
