My car is eating coolant
At least once a month I end up having to add coolant because the 'Low Coolant' light comes on frequently. I take a look, and the level is below the bottom line on the reservoir tank. I don't see any bleeding out onto my driveway, or any on the engine anywhere...
The car is N/A also. Other possible sources, help? 93 GT by the way. Last edited by Firaga; October 30th, 2009 at 08:03 PM. |

prob the best thing to do would be take it to a shop and have the cooling system pressure tested

take off the radiator cap and start is up.. see if there are bubbles in it.. or just pull your plugs and check the condition of them.. coolant leaves a weird white coating. +1 on possible head gaskets.

change your oil and see if it is milky, if it is then you have a blown head gasket

If its not coming out the exhaust or dripping on the driveway it only leaves one other possibility.... Headgasket.

95% head gasket
5% plastic reservoir has a crack and it leaks out when the coolant gets hot.
