Will 89 Lincoln AOD fit 91 Mustang GT?


My tranny grenaded on me and I have a friend who is willing to sell me a AOD from a 89 Lincoln Mark VII. Will the AOD fit 91 Mustang GT?

I don't see why not. It isn't like you are going to an AOD-E.

the reason why I ask is becuase the mechanic who checked out my tranny said there are AODs that have longer or shorter tailshaft housings.

The tranny was dropped when it blew....it was tossed since the tranny casing was damaged on the inside.....it was that bad.

in general the trans to really get is from either a 90-91 townie or a 90-92 mark vii soemthing about better srvos and hardend input shaft, i got mine form a 90 and it shift nice and firm, not sure if they fit , but it might the mark vii is a fox chassiss car if it does your in luck. fyi the lincoln trans has a longer tailshaft than a crownvic.
