Tach Question

I'm trying to hook up a Sun Tach on my 90 LX w/5.0 engine. I'm using an MSD Blaster 2 coil and stock distributor. result: no signal (reading). Do I need a Tach filter to get this combo to work ???
Thanks.

go buy yourself a 6AL or a 6AL 2 from what I herd it ruins the tach if you wire it to an msd ignition coil try getting a 6AL module and plugging it in the tach port otherwise use the stock coil

really the instructions on how to install the tach says that you shouldn't wire it to an msd ignition or it will fry the tach and it voids the warranty.
