dude STAY away from patriot, I have personally never had a set but I have heard nothing good except the one comment in this thread about them ever. All I have ever heard is horror stories... lot of cleaning up necessary out of the box.....

Heads are an important piece of the puzzle.. if your going through the process of removing/install heads, gaskets, rr's etc why not just wait a little while longer and pickup a set of tfs heads that are known five times over for being the best for the money and having excellent quality and tons of potential over other marked cheaper heads?
My vote is for tfs heads because money spent well now will get you to your goals later rather then having to go through the same thing of selling/purchasing heads/valvetrain to get to that goal that you didn't get to with the cheaper heads prior. |

okay so patriots are not the way to go, save up and most likely go with trickflows and a trickflow cam to tie it together?

I have no problem with OTS cams, most people will scream bloody murder and say run to Jay Allen for a custom cam. Which by all means is a great investment, but not for the person running OOTB, OTS, bolt on parts... basically I'm saying TF, AFM all offer a cam that you can buy/install and be happy with
oh yeah, thats a good idea... saving up for the TF heads and doing it right the first time |
