re
I am going to hit it again tonight and try to resolve the vacume/intake leak issues, If it didnt look so rough I would post some pics, all in time. I am having a really hard time finding a drivers side grey gt style seat, I am thinking of just buying a set of aftermarkets if I cant find one.

re
Thanks, Its 73k miles, that is the original color, I believe it was only offered in lx cars and they only built 360 hatchbacks in the color that year. Interior is pretty clean but I want to make it really nice, drivers seat it busted, I am thinking about replacing or going aftermarket, I really like black interior but I dont want to have to change the dash and everything so I will probably fix or replace seats, fix the ash tray door, replace carpet, steam clean it all, 5 lug conversion and find some nice wheels, I really like the bullit looking wheels, full exhaust out the back, I want to enjoy driving the car, any suggestions are more than welcome. I did find the vac leak tonight, the hose under the intake was terribly dry rotted.
Thanks again guys |

It needs wheels tires something bad, I am really racking my brain trying to find something that will really look good and stand out, I like the bullit looking wheels, but want something original any ideas guys? I also am going to order springs and camber/caster plates and a fuel pump this week. Keep the good advice rolling in its much appreciated.

Re problems again
I went down to actually drive the car last night, cranked it up, and its poping again, headers getting red very red, fuel pressure is good, timing is at 12 degrees, no vac leaks, I changed the C&L meter over to another meter a buddy had it made no change to the way the car was acting? This is getting OLD! I adjusted the fuel pressure all across the board 34psi to 43 psi no change to the fire red exhaust I'm totally lost!

fuel pump... you said at 3000 rpm the pressure would drop to 20 psi or so.. pressure doesn't always mean adequate volume.
Check your grounds and the connections behind the intake.

re finally got it
I finally got it, well just about. After adjusting the valves AGAIN, retiming the car to 16 degree, and bumping the fuelpressure to 44psi the car cranked, idled great, no red exhaust, no fuel smell no vac leaks no pops revs fast. I took it on a road test, three people in the car, It has good drag launch suspension and a 3:55 rear, I was pretty easy on it at first, all was going well, I brought the car up to 3000 rpm in first and got into the throttle hard the tires went up in smoke, shifted to second the car was spinning/ pulling hard when all of a sudden it lost fuel pressure, I backed out of the throttle and it regained fuel pressure. I have a 190 lph pump on the way I am installing that and a new filter monday.
